Middletown Bed and Breakfast - Kevin and Nicky invite you to enjoy a relaxing break in the tranquil setting of their home, Middletown Farmhouse. A warm welcome awaits you at their beautiful 16th century thatched cottage, a former farmhouse. Situated in the heart of the picturesque mid Devon village of Sampford Courtenay, on the northern fringes of the stunning Dartmoor National Park, just five miles north-east of Okehampton, it is easily accessible by car from the A30 or public transport from the cathedral city of Exeter.
With nearly an acre of garden and woodland, the wildlife flourishes; from swallows nesting in the barn to resident owls in the woods, butterflies and bees on the Buddleia, toads in the pond and our lovely hens supplying fresh eggs for your breakfasts. Beyond our boundaries explore the quiet lanes, with beautiful Devon hedgebanks brimming with wild flowers, butterflies and all manner of wildlife. Pause a while at a field gate and take in the amazing views across open countryside to Dartmoor.
MiddletownFarmhouse
Enjoy the comfort of a luxury king size bed in one of our two recently refurbished, beamed bedrooms on the first floor. Both are centrally heated, have en-suite shower rooms with shaver points, and offer TVs, free WiFi, USB charging points, tea/coffee making facilities and hairdryers. A travel cot and highchair are also available upon request.
Breakfast is served downstairs in the dining room, which has dual aspect windows overlooking the front and rear gardens. You are welcome to explore our large garden, which we are currently reclaiming after years of neglect, and discover some of the wonderful wildlife we have living in it.
Please note we have a no smoking policy inside the property and unfortunately are unable to accommodate any pets.

Positioned midway between the rugged north coast and the English Riviera on the south
Devon coast (just 45 minutes away) you will find yourselves in the perfect
place to start a holiday. From a gentle stroll down a country lane, a visit
to a National Trust property, a day out
at a local tourist attraction, or a
more energetic ramble or cycle ride on Dartmoor
National Park, the choice is yours.
The village of Sampford Courtenay is renowned for its involvement in the Prayer
Book Rebellion of 1549 of which there is reference to in St
Andrew's church (Grade 1 listed). With information about the regular events
hosted by the village hall, St Andrew's church and The New
Inn, plus local history and photographs, the village
website is a very useful point of reference.
